This excellent smoothie recipe that is very similar to ice cream is probably the fastest one to make! In just a matter of 10 minutes or less, you can get a homemade cold dessert minus the use of an ice-cream maker. This delectable dessert is simply a combination of over-ripe bananas, milk and maple syrup.
In a plastic container, store the peeled over-ripe bananas and leave them in the freezer for several hours – they should be thoroughly frozen.
Once taken out from the freezer, put them right away into a food processor and pour in the milk.
Blend on full power for 2-3 minutes (it may struggle at first, but keep it up – not recommended for low-end blenders).
With a spatula, scrape down the inside of the bowl and gently pour a good slug of maple syrup.
Continue processing for another 2 minutes until you start noticing banana fibers breaking down and form the most incredible dessert!
Transfer the treat into a bowl and garnish with your choice of toppings!

- Use double cream instead of milk for a richer version.
- Try out some rum, raisins or cinnamon instead of maple syrup.
Be reminded that this recipe has no actual sugar so it will freeze solid in the freezer after being stored for several hours. It will be very difficult, almost impossible to scoop.
